MINUTES OF THE MEETING

We deem it a great pleasure to cherish the event of Sixth Alumni Meet for Aalim Muhammed Salegh College of Engineering. The Event was conducted on 30th march 2014 at clarion Hotel president hotel and towers 25,Radhakrishnan salai, mylapore, Chennai-4. Invitations have been forwarded through Email and by post intimating the Alumni students pertaining to the event. Shri E.Mariappan I.I.S, Director (NEWS) Doordharshan Kendra Chennai was the guest of honor for the inaugural function of the Alumni Meet. Alhajiyani janaba Habibunissa sahiba Chair person, Alhaj Janab S.Segu Jamaludeen Secretary and Correspondent, Prof. Dr. M. Afzal Ali Baig Principal, Placement Officer and Heads of all the Departments have attended the Meet.

Around 270 Alumnus had participated in this meeting. Our Alumni meet was an event of bringing all old students, who studied at our college under one forum for exchange of knowledge, skill and experience amongst themselves and to disseminate them to the students of the college in a righteous way. Faculty members from all the departments of Engineering college have participated and interacted with the Alumnus.

Addressing the Inaugural function Learned Principal, Prof. Dr. M. Afzal ali baig extended a hearty welcome to the alumnus, Chief Guest and the dignitaries to the Alumni Meet. In his benevolent address Prof. Dr. M. Afzal ali baig shared the activities of the college and its growth and requested the alumni for their active support and suggestions for the growth and development of the Alumni Foundations in particular and the Institute in general in the national and international scenario.

Alhaj S.Segu Jamaludeen, Secretary and correspondent of Aalim Muhammed Salegh Trust extended a hearty welcome to the Alumnus and appealed to them that Alumni must have active participation in the college events and he presented the university rank holders to the alumni followed by the college activities in social welfare. Alhajiyani janaba Habibunissa sahiba Chair person in her presidential address expressed her wish to alumnus to make their children too to study in the institution and make the bond between the alumnus and the college stronger.

Dr S. M. SHAIK NURDDIN Alumni Acheiver Award for the first time was distributed to the Alumnus who has excelled in the following fields :
Entrepreneurship – Mr Abdur Rasheed (2000 – 2004)
Corporate Carrier – Mr Mohan (200 – 2004)
Academic Research And Training – Mr Mohammed Musthafa (2005 – 2009)
Development in Social Service – Mr Muralidharan (2000 – 2004)

The Chief Guest, Shri E.Mariappan I.I.S, Director (NEWS) Doordharshan Kendra Chennai addressed the Alumnus shared his views on role of alumni in the growth of a college, society and on nation. The opportunity was given to every Alumnus to share their experience. Alumni speakers Mr. VedhaShankaran, Mr.P.Vivekanandan, Ms.P.Sumithra, Ms.Syed ali Fathima, Ms.Saranya Ms.Karthiga took the opportunity to thank the management for organizing the event and they shared the memory of their college days. All participants opinioned that alumni could play an active role in growth and development of the institution and also pledged their active support for the same. They put forward the idea of creating alumni facebook page for uniting the alumni of the college and to work together for the noble cause of development of the institution. All the members present were enthusiastic in assuring the Management of the College that they would be helpful for the Placement interests of Students and assured to contribute for the betterment of the College.

Vote of thanks was given by Mrs. A.S. Salma Banu, Asst Prof. / ECE- Alumni coordinator. The meeting came to an end with an opulent lunch. In the post lunch session, the alumni came up with many suggestions regarding the effective functioning of association. They also offered their services in the growth of Department. The general Body meeting of the Alumni Association was held and a new Executive body of Alumni Association for the year 2014-2015 was formed as detailed below.

Many of the Alumni expressed their willingness to help the Institution in training, placement, development of modern laboratories, and delivery of expert lectures and workshops in emerging areas of technology.

A feedback was also collected from alumni regarding the organizational aspects of the Meet and their suggestions for improvement in professional training at AMS college of engineering. The Alumni Meet closed at a very emotional note. However, everyone appreciated the efforts by the AMS college of engineering for organizing the Meet. Everyone departed with the motive to work towards the growth of the institution.
