LABORATORY FACILITY
The E.C.E. department has the following laboratories to cover all the experiments prescribed in Anna University/A.I.C.T.E. Curriculum and to support all research activities.
ELECTRONICS DEVICES AND CIRCUITS LABORATORY:
- To provide exposure to the students with hands on experience on various basic engineering practices in Electronics components and devices.
- All basic Electronic devices and their characteristics, applications can be studied. Using these devices the small electronic circuits can be constructed and can be checked .and also verified using software.
- All analog and digital IC related experiments can be carried out using trainer kits as well as software like VHDL. The testers for IC are available.

Trainer kits, CRO, Function generator, D.C Power supply, Dual Power supply, Ammeters, Voltmeter, DRB, DCB, DIB, Digital multimeter, Digital IC’s, Analog IC’s, IC tester
SOFTWARE:
ORCAD CAPTURE With Pspice, Xilinx software
MICROPROCESSOR AND MICRO CONTROLLER LABORATORY:
This lab has various types of microprocessor, micro controller trainer kits along with interfacing modules to demonstrate the detailed applications of microprocessors.
EQUIPMENTS & SOFTWARE:
Processor and Controllers kits, Interfacing Kits, MASM – Software.
VLSI LABORATORY:
To perform Design Entry and simulation of combinational logic circuits, sequential circuits.Test bench creation, functional verification, and concepts of concurrent and sequential execution is highlighted. Transistor and Layout design of VLSI circuits are done.
EQUIPMENTS & SOFTWARE:
Spartan FPGA boards, Xilinx software and Tanner EDA software.
DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LABORATORY:
The detailed study of the digital signal processing concept based experiments can be performed.
EQUIPMENTS & SOFTWARE:
DSP kits, Personal Computers equipped with MAT LAB Version 14
COMMUNICATION LABORATORY:
The concepts of all type of modulation & demodulation can be studied. The recent communication techniques like fiber optic techniques can be demonstrated with available equipments. This lab has highly advanced digital storage oscilloscopes.

NETWORKS LABORATORY:
To create scenario and study the performance of different protocols, network and verification of different algorithms through simulation.
EQUIPMENTS & SOFTWARE:
Personal Computers equipped with NS2/NS3, C and Java softwares.
MICROWAVE AND OPTICAL LAB:
In Microwave lab characteristics of klystron power supplies, Gunn power supplies and microwave wave guides like directional couplers etc. can be studied.
In Optical lab characteristics of optical sources and detectors , losses in optical fibers.

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS LAB:
To study concepts on programming and downloading Embedded C programs on embedded kits.
